AKR Exotics

AKR Exotics is a personal passion project focused on reptile education, science-based husbandry, conservation, and rehabilitation. Under this name, I run an unofficial reptile rescue, build bioactive habitats for a large variety of species, hold educational events for people of all ages, and most of all advocate for these incredible creatures.

What is BIOACTIVE? Bioactive enclosures consist of live plants, insects such as isopods and springtails which consume any waste, and the animal which create a balanced, symbiotic ecosystem. Bioactive enclosures look beautiful, but most importantly create an enriching and natural environment for the animal. Below is a gallery of my habitat builds and animals.
